NR22 6BS A hands-on workshop where you'll discover the joys of gel plate printing and learn the beautiful art of lotus folding to create your very own nature-inspired artist's book. In this fun and creative workshop, you’ll produce expressive, one-of-a-kind prints using a gel plate, a versatile tool that allows for spontaneous, experimental printing. Whether you’re a beginner or someone looking to learn a new technique, this workshop offers a perfect introduction to gel printing. During the workshop, you will: ● Be introduced to Gel Plate Printing: Learn the basics of monotype and monoprinting using a soft, mineral-based 10x8 gel plate. ● Experiment with Tools & Textures: Explore how to use leaves, plants, and organic materials to create textures and prints. You’ll also discover how found objects and stencils can add intricate details to your work. ● Learn Lotus Folding: A technique where paper is folded to resemble the petals of a lotus flower. This delicate fold is perfect for creating dimensional pages for your book. ● Create a Botanical-Inspired Artist’s Book: Combine your gel prints with the lotus folds to create a stunning, nature-inspired book. Each page will showcase your personal creativity and the beauty of natural motifs. ● Make Your Own Printed Covers: Design and print your own unique covers to complement the pages of your book. All materials will be provided for the workshop, including the gel plates, paints, and tools you need. Just bring an apron (and perhaps something old you don’t mind getting a little messy in)! If you’d like, feel free to bring along plant material, leaves, feathers, or other textured items (but nothing too sharp).
