In this fabulous workshop, you will learn how to produce expressive, creative, unique prints. Gel printing is a spontaneous, fun and experimental way of printing in which you can embrace the serendipity of what you create. You will learn to print using a large 10x8 soft mineral based reusable printing plate. The gel plate has a sensitive surface which accentuates both texture and details.
During this workshop you will:
Be introduced to the gel plate and monotype/monoprinting
Learn about the equipment used and applying the paint
Explore different methods of using leaves plants and organic matter
Use found objects and stencils to add texture
Print directly into a concertina book
Make your own unique printed covers to compliment your book
All materials for this workshop will be provided: all you need to bring is an apron. Please also do not wear anything new or best!
You do not have to to but if you would like to then please bring plant material, leaves, feathers, anything textured but not sharp
This workshop is suitable for beginners and the more creative wanting to learn a new printing process
